I believe an art gallery is not just a space for displaying and arranging artworks. The way the artworks are displayed and the layout of the space itself are also part of the experience of appreciating art. If you visit a gallery while paying attention to the changing atmosphere and colors of the space as you move through it, you'll have a much richer experience of the art.
